Session 3.11 - Case & Discussion: Innovating Ventricular Ablation: Dual-Modality Ablation
In this session chaired by Devi Nair (Jonesboro, US), Ammar Killu (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, US) presents a complex redo ventricular ablation case using a dual-modality catheter capable of both radiofrequency and pulsed field ablation. Ammar Killu details the mapping and ablation of a PVC focus in the anterior interventricular vein (AIV) near the left anterior descending artery, utilizing PFA for safety in sensitive anatomical regions. Panelists Pasquale Santangeli (Cleveland, US) and Tom De Potter (Aalst, BE) discuss lesion depth differences between the two modalities, the potential for coronary spasm with PFA, and the benefits of hybrid catheters in achieving durable suppression in thick ventricular myocardium.
