This session showcases a live case from Abdul Parwani and Hendrik Boldt (German Heart Centre Berlin, Berlin, Germany), focusing on pulmonary vein isolation using the VOLT PFA system with balloon-and-basket catheter technology. The team treat a 71-year-old man with symptomatic paroxysmal AF, intolerant to drug therapy, highlighting a streamlined workflow without pre-procedural CT and using ultrasound-guided access and NAPS sedation.
The operators demonstrate plug-and-play catheter preparation, impedance-based contact assessment, “mapping on the fly” and stepwise energy delivery. Discussion centres on optimising contact, number of applications per vein, and fluoroscopy-only workflows.
